Solving camera and microphone issues

Most web browsers require you to allow access to your camera and microphone for any new website, as a sensible privacy precaution. If you find you cannot join your video consultation, it may be because your web browser has disabled access to the camera and/or microphone. Here are some tips on how to change these setting on the main web browsers.

How to edit video or camera permissions for Google Chrome 

Computer

1. Click the camera blocked icon in your browser's address bar
2. Allow access and then refresh the page

Mobile

1. On your Android device, open the Chrome app .
2. To the right of the address bar, tap More   Settings.
3. Tap Site Settings.
4. Tap Microphone or Camera.
5. Tap to turn the microphone or camera on or off.
   • If you see the site that you want to use under Blocked, tap the site  Access your microphone  Allow.

How to edit video or camera permissions for Safari

Mobile

1. On your Apple device, open settings and search Safari.
2. Click into Safari and scroll to the bottom where it has the section Settings For Websites.
3. Tap Camera and ensure it either says Ask or Allow
4. Then go back in the top left corner where it says Safari and click Microphone and ensure it either says Ask or Allow
5. Then follow the video link in your text which will open in the Safari App
6. The following will open if you have set your settings to Ask, ensure you click Request Permissions
